Sotkamo Silver AB holds twenty exploration licenses near Mo i Rana in Nordland County.
The historic Mofjell mine, which was in operation from 1928 to 1987, produced 4.35 Mt of ore with average grades of 3.61 % Zn, 0.71 % Pb and 0.31 % Cu.
In 2007, Gexco conducted the high-resolution TEM survey by helicopter covering the area of over 450 km2. Overall, the study areas have ca. 200 individual mineralized prospects and are highly prospective for volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits hosting zinc, lead, and copper, as well as, gold and silver. Sotkamo Silver's exploration licenses cover ca. 90 of the most prospective targets in the area.
